The Choir of St. Martin in the Fields
The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields leads the music at the weekly Sunday Eucharist and Choral Evensong services. Comprising around twenty singers, the mixed voluntary choir also sings at the major church festivals - Advent, Christmas, Holy Week and Easter; as well as at many weddings and memorial services.The Choir also maintains an active broadcasting, concerts and recordings schedule. There are frequent broadcasts on BBC Radio and Television, including Sunday Worship, Songs of Praise and Sunday Half Hour; as well as several concerts per year both at St Martin's as part of the renowned concert series and at external venues of note. The Choir have recently recorded a CD, 'Christmas at St Martin-in-the-Fields'. In May 2010 the choir go on tour to Ireland.
Joining the choir
The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields is always on the lookout for experienced and confident choral singers to join the choir as regular and occasional members.
The weekly commitments are two Sunday services (Sung Eucharist and Choral Evensong) and Wednesday evening rehearsals. In addition, there are regular opportunities for concerts and broadcasts, as well as singing at occasional (paid) special services.
