The St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition embodies our commitment to the discovery, nurture and promotion of new and emerging musical talent and continues a long history of musical excellence and artistic contribution at the heart of London. With the kind and invaluable support of Making Music, the competition is able to offer winners the opportunity to establish and develop a performance profile throughout the UK.
Semi-Finals:
The following ensembles have been chosen to perform in the semi-finals:

Tuesday 20 April, 1.00pm
Piatti String Quartet
Albion Quintet
Mediterranea Trio
Friday 23 April, 1.00pm
St James Quintet

Lunar Saxophone Quartet
Final:
No more than three ensembles will be chosen to perform in the final to take place in a live Evening Concert on Tuesday 27 April 2010 at 7.30pm. This is a ticketed, public event.
The Panel:
Finalists will be judged by a panel including world famous composer and musician Mr John Rutter OBE, Mr Oliver Macfarlane head of classical music TV for the BBC, Robin Osterley CEO of Making Music and Dr Andrew Earis Director of Music for St Martin-in-the-Fields.
The Prize:
In addition to a small cash prize, the winning ensemble will be given the opportunity to perform in a series of professional (paid) concerts for festivals and music societies around Britain through the Making Music network. These concerts will be vital opportunities to establish and build the ensemble's performance profile.
