The St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition embodies our commitment to the discovery, nurture and promotion of new and emerging musical talent and continues a long history of musical excellence and artistic contribution at the heart of London. With the kind and invaluable support of Making Music, the competition is able to offer winners the opportunity to establish and develop a performance profile throughout the UK.

Details of the 2011 competition will be available here, on our Facebook page and via Twitter in early September. These will include downloadable versions of the 2011 Rules and Instructions and 2011 Official Entry Form.

KEEP UP WITH THE PIATTI QUARTET

2010 Competition winners the Piatti Quartet is keeping very busy with its prize of a series of concerts through the Making Music network. The first engagement came just one week after the competition final (from a member of the audience) and 5 months on from winning the competition they have nearly fulfilled a quota of twelve performance engagements across the UK and will extend the number as demand continues for the 2011 – 2012 season.

In addition, Piatti will appear in the St Martin’s Afternoon Tea Concert Series on Monday 9 August at 3.30pm performing a programme of Handel and Mozart quartets.

The competition is generously supported by McKinley Vintners, Capital Foods, Rinkoff Bakers and Alison Risborough.
